Chapter Two: A Brand New Life

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)

chapter3picI came out of that night club and committed my life to Jesus Christ and I haven’t stopped yet and he has never left me. I have no regrets of that era in my life except I strayed away from God in sin. He turned it around for my good. I have grown in grace, wisdom, knowledge and understanding through his word and experiences. I have been able to pass this wisdom on to my children, my students, choir members, friends and anyone that I meet to tell them about the goodness of the Lord. I do not have a “holier than thou” attitude because I am human and I can make errors and sin still. That’s why I pray hard and stay in the Word to face the issues of life.

God can make you strong and you can escape temptations. Today, regardless of whatever I face, I ask him to STAND BY ME and he does. I have his assurance that everything will work out fine. Thus, “I BELIEVE” that he will do what he says he will. He is a provider, a healer and Jesus is a deliverer and he gives me Perfect Peace even in the midst of my storms and tribulations and my faults and failures. He’s by my side. He preserves my going out and coming in and he protects me from all evil, that’s why I praise and worship him.

God finally brought me out of bondage when I got my head on straight and I stayed focused with my mind on him. I was admitted to Miles College on a scholarship which expired during my senior year but God made a way out of no where and I finally graduated in Elementary Education. God didn’t stop there. After I took graduate courses during the summer, he made a way for me to be hired in the same school year that my oldest child Anthony began grade

school. The Lord showed me favor and I didn’t have to wait for years for a job. I was also blessed with an honorable, decent and praying husband, a Christian Man to lead our home. Praise God!!! He did things in order as needed and on time.
